About the Mentor
Based in Singapore, Chong Wai Yi is the Senior Partner for Asia Corporate Training (ACT), driving market growth in Singapore and beyond. ACT is fully committed to working with organisations who want to see transfomation - be it in business processes or human capital management. Their extensive clientele base is a testimony to their committment and success.
Prior to this, she was the Director of Strategy, Business Development and Projects for Enviseam, her first foray in working for a startup in Singapore. Enviseam is a global platform that invites artists, entertainers, and opinion leaders to wield their cultural influence and bring fine art to the masses.
Before her return to Singapore, Wai Yi held various senior positions in real estate development and consulting companies, partnering with and supporting C-suite leaders, investors, vendors, and teams based in China and globally.
She was the Senior Director of Commercial - Design and Construction at Tishman Speyer China, a global real estate company headquartered in New York. There, she oversaw investment underwriting, joint venture partnerships and investor engagement for all projects in China, as well as organisational (re)shaping to create a sustainable, asset-light business model.
Before that, Wai Yi was the Director of Costs and Contracts at Keppel Land China Headquarters, managing central procurement strategy and overseeing commercial management for all projects located in over 10 cities in China. She was also appointed as a Committee Member for Learning and Development, as well as Corporate Outreach at Shanghai Construction and Development Association, promoting effective networking and best practices in the industry.

One of the startups is a mobile web-based Q&A tool for online and in-person conferences. Wai Yi advised them on matters such as:
- Considerations around data privacy;
- Using in-market pilot tests as case studies for further business development;
- The importance of looking towards intergration with Tencent's ecosystem; and
- The localisation of marketing materials to better showcase direct value proposition.
Another startup is a pre and post-natal service offerings (online/ offline integration) based in China. Wai Yi advised them on matters such as:
- Fund-raising;
- Partner selection; and
- Partnership agreement negotiation.
